Turkey Thyme Patties
I’ve been in need of some quick and easy meals lately. Sacrificing my health with quick and junky foods on a daily basis is not an option. Making sure I get good, nutritious whole food is a must for me. This doesn’t change when I am busy - in fact, I need the nourishing, energy-giving qualities of good food more than every.
It’s a challenge lots of us face: how to ensure we get healthy, nutritious food in a quick and easy format. Preparation is key! When life gets busy, it’s handy to have some delicious and nutritious foods at hand that we can quickly take out of the freezer and eat on they fly. These Turkey Thyme Patties check all those boxes! Not only are they an excellent source of satisfying protein, but they also offer oodles of flavour, along with many beneficial nutrients, including:
Protein: Turkey provides a complete source of protein, a macronutrient needed for many functions in the body. This macronutrient can help curb cravings, providing you with a sense of satisfaction after a meal and throughout the day, while boosting your metabolism.
B-Complex: There are 8 B vitamins in total, and you will find many of them in turkey, along with choline which is often grouped into the B vitamin family. These beneficial B’s help support our nervous system, brain, liver, and energy production.
Multi-minerals: B vitamins aren’t the only benefit contained within turkey. You’ll also benefit from a wide range of minerals as well. Among them, calcium, iron, magnesium, molybdenum, phosphorus, potassium, selenium, and zinc. If you are looking for a nutrient-dense food, turkey has it down.
I like to make a batch of these delicious little nutrient bombs and pop them in the freezer so that on a busy day I can quickly defrost them and warm then up in the oven. Put these patties on a plate next to some delicious greens or sautéed veggies and you have yourself a quick, easy, nutritious and delicious meal!
